Submission (Arm-Triangle Choke)
These guys traded a few shots, Teixeira shot for a takedown, Roberson stuffed the shot against the fence, unloaded with some hard elbows to the side of Teixeira's head, he dropped him, continued to unload with big punches & elbows on the ground, passing to full mount, Teixeira sort of recovered, went for another takedown, Roberson threw some more elbows, and then somehow Teixeira ended up on top in full mount just 2 minutes into the opening round. That was a crazy start to this fight. Teixeira setup an arm-triangle choke, but Roberson squirmed out of it. Teixeira slapped on another tight arm-triangle choke, he jumped over to the proper side, squeezed, and Roberson was forced to submit. That was a great win for Teixeira, after almost getting knocked out in the first minute of the fight, with several hard elbows to the back of the head mixed in.
Roberson looks fucking massive for 185. He blasted Marshman with some calculated strikes, and every strike he threw landed with authority. Marshman has a solid chin, and he was able to fire back with a few solid shots, but Roberson basically just outclassed him in the first round. That should be a 10-9 round for Karl Roberson.
Roberson was slowing down at the end of the first round, and Marshman came out swinging to start the second round. They both landed some big shots in the second round, it was a close round, and then Roberson scored a big takedown with 2 minutes left in the round. He basically just held Marshman down with side control until the end of the round. Roberson should be ahead 20-18 going into the final round. Marshman is still dangerous though.
They spent the first half of the final round trading strikes at a moderate pace, they both landed some big strikes, and then Roberson scored another big takedown, landing in side control again. Roberson sort of tried to setup an Americana, and then gave that up in favor of passing to full mount. Roberson looked like the best fighter in the world in the opening round, and then he just kind of decided to coast to a decision in the last two rounds. He still clearly beat Marshman, but this fight went from explosive, to somewhat boring. Still, congrats to Roberson for the decision victory.
Technical Submission (Arm-Triangle Choke)
These guys traded a few strikes, Ferreira immediately shot for a takedown, and after a brief battle for control, Ferreira secured side control 45 seconds into the opening round. Ferreira continued to control Roberson for the duration of the round, until he eventually slapped on an arm-triangle choke with 30 seconds left in the round, and he put Roberson to sleep, handing him the first loss of his career. That was a really strong performance by Cezar Ferreira.
Submission (Rear-Naked Choke)
These guys both traded some hard punches & kicks, they clinched a little bit, Roberson seemed like he was in control for the most part, Stewart shot for a desperate takedown, Roberson stuffed his shot, threw him to the ground, took his back, locked on a rear-naked choke, and finished the fight by submission with around 90 seconds remaining in the opening round. That was a really solid UFC debut for Karl Roberson.
KO (Elbows)
These guys traded a couple of strikes, Spann threw down Roberson for a second, but Roberson stood back up, Spann tried to take him down, Roberson blasted him with a series of short forward elbows to the side of Spann's head, and he dropped him with the quickness, ending the fight with a 15 second first round knockout. That was a fantastic performance by Karl Roberson.
